Explore the world of Japanese tea with Kettl founder Zach Mangan. Each month Zach will highlight a tea from the current Kettl collection that he feels is at peak flavor, or provide early access to a upcoming release that he is particularly excited about. Subscribers can look forward to 50-100g of our best in class Sencha, Kabuse, Houjicha, and Wakoucha loose leaf tea and unique new selections added to our menu.

All new Founders Collection installments ship on the 15th of each month.

Members who join between the 1st and the 15th will receive the upcoming selection as their first order, shipped on the 15th. Memebers who join between the 15th and the end of the month will receive the current selection as their first order immediately upon sign up. Ensuing orders will be processed on the 15th.

Miyazaki Kirari 31 Sencha

Our March Founder's Collection features a stunning sencha produced in Miyazaki prefecture, the home of the teas namesake cultivar—Kirari 31. This tea was produced in the tiered mountainside gardens of the Igeta family and comes from select plantings reserved for their highest grade offerings. Cooler weather means slower growth and deeper flavor. We absolutely love the combination of shincha-like freshness on the nose with a deep, creamy umami. One of our favorite finds in recent memory.
